First Camping Trip

We began this summer off with high hopes of camping bi-weekly, hiking every Saturday, swimming during the week, etc. etc. etc.  We were NOT that ambitiously engaged by the third week...but still managed to have fun. We went camping twice and have one more trip in the works. These are some shots from Rosie's first camping trip.  She looks like a hobo, actually...but a very cute hobo :)

Her accomplice is of of her best friends, parents' choice :) But seriously, they have now gotten over their fears of each other and had a blast getting dirty together.  Carrie is 2 months older than Rosie--not that you would know it to see our giant girl next to this 40% percentile pixie...

(I would DEFINITELY recommend the Timpanogos campground right above Aspen Grove to young family campers--their fire-pits are guarded from little ones by big cement walls (but still accessible with parents' help) AND they had flushing toilets--such a big plus!!!)

Rosie LOVED the hot-dog roasters, and got to use her favorite words of the time: "up" and "down" (it made roasting anything pretty difficult, but she sure was cute!)

Rosie did great on her first hike!  4 miler to Stuart Falls and back.

Our family...and one AWESOME hat :)

SO glad she has more hair now--it's amazing what 3 months will do!!
Next step: teaching Rosie to sleep in a tent...no wonder we haven't gone camping since, I can't pull all-nighters with my crazy baby like I did in college (sans baby, of course, those sleepless nights were by my own volition).

Rosie Posie Poser

So, this was from an outing a while ago (someday I will have a smartphone and post things as they actually happen) but I thought they were hilarious so I'm sharing them with you now. This is my daughter--ever aware of the camera and of how to keep it focused on her.

Wish I knew where she got her moves.

"Can you even begin to fathom how deep I'm thinking?"
Way out of your league...

Marilyn Monroe's got nuttin' on me!

This is the OFFICIAL end of the post.

BUT if you would like to continue to peruse, I was scrolling through past pictures and saw a couple other classically candid shots--she has the best faces, and outfits, and, well, the best everything.

Enjoy :)

I forgot she used to be FAT!

Look, Mom! Crazy aunts and NO HANDS!

Blood rush.

This is how she used to smile for the camera. Took forever to capture these
cuz she'd only do it for a .003 seconds.

AAAAAAHHHH!

First Birthday = CAKE!!!!

To finish up Rosie's first birthday I had to post some pictures of her party--she was SO CUTE with her cake!  Here she is opening presents--it only really held her attention for a couple minutes, but she's loved each present since!

All the Utah Fullers were there--as were the Lloyds, but I didn't get a picture of them, so you'll have to look at the zoo post to see them :) Do you like our decorating job??

ALERT: There are LOTS of pictures of this child smashing cake into her face, so feel free to skim. I was just amazed that she was so AWESOME about it--I mean, the smashing, stuffing, smearing, licking, gooing, crumbling action was priceless--seriously out of a movie. I love this girl so much, and my sister took adorable pictures of the whole episode. Rosie went right to town and dug into that pink cake like...a fat kid into his cake, I guess.

This was the PERFECT capture of her squinty face she makes whenever the camera is out--I think she is trying to smile for the picture :)

So excited!!

Take that, you cake!

AND it tastes good!!!

She was on SUCH a sugar rush for the rest of the day--WAY too hyper in this picture, but loved every second of it. Happy birthday Rosie!  I couldn't imagine life without you--just like I couldn't comprehend before you came into our lives how much I would love, admire, and enjoy your happy spirit in our hoe. You are our biggest blessing.
